City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

Trough the window
I took this photo above England on my way there and I like it so much that I have to share it with you.
There is a very nice golf course and beautiful English countryside.
I couldn’t have imagine I can take a photo like this trough the plane window, with a mini digital camera =)
Have a great Friday wherever you are.

Price war
I bet you can’t compete with these prices:
5 kg or 11lb of peppers are 1.5KM which is €0.75 or $1
7kg or 15lb of potatoes are 3KM which is €1.5 or $2
7kg or 15lb or onions are 3KM which is €1.5 pr $2
It’s a time when all people are making pickles, all sorts of relishes, salads... what not for the coming winter. Very delicious stuff.
Do you make similar stuff in your country?

Trees
Trees are still intact, warm weather during the day but pretty cold at night.
How’s autumn coming in your part of the world?
Please visit Passante's page to see a great color of a tree she posted few days ago.

Life is a beach
A day on the Panonica beach without visitors.
This summer was very busy and fruitful for tourism in Tuzla.
Tourist board of B&H has reported 19 000 tourists in Tuzla canton in the first 6 months of this year. Half of them were foreign tourists bringing around 350 000 KM or €175 000.
However this shot is dedicated to Jane from Cebu, please visit her lovely sunny beach.

Two spatulas for Juggerpix
This is the stadium of FC Sloboda with a lovely green grass – that is a local football team.
As you can see it’s not in the best shape but hey to be on a positive side it’s good that it exist.
Also one can use the athletic tracks to jog and get fit if one is a sporty type.
Juggerpix - spatulas for you - a close encounter =)
Have an easy Sunday.

Eating late
To show you another small restaurant - cevabdzinica - like yesterday but this one is on the Korzo in the city centre.
They serve cevapi and burgers maybe mixed grilled meat and people love it. They're so tasty one can always eat it of course if you're not a vegetarian.
It's the first day of autumn and I don't want to admit it, still pretending it's summer...

Summer day
One more summer day..
This is the garden of the nicely done restaurant ‘Imbis’, the main dish on the menu is – ćevapčići – so that’s why this kind of a restaurant is called – cevabdzinica, very popular around the country. Every city has it on every corner.
As you can see they have a big, lovely garden to sit outside and enjoy sunshine while eating.

Summer night
I quite liked this shot of these two people sitting in front of this hi-tec shop and had to share it.
The city centre is usually very crowded at night in the summer. Lots of cafes have tables and chairs out on the pavement and usually they're full especially at the weekend.
Oh, two days left of the summer.

Dancing shoes
Shoe Magic
The shoe rack
is stacked
With promise,
With dreams
Waiting
To wake.
What you do,
Where you go,
Who you grow
Up to be
Depends on
The steps you take.
Nikki Grimes
I liked these shoes dancing freely on the display so they had to be a follow up to the yesterday post.
I'm very chuffed that lots of you like poetry so here it is again - a little gem.
This photo was taken on the market where they sell very cheep clothes. The clothes are not the best quality but with low prices. Lot's of people can't afford to buy stuff in shops so markets are very popular.

Happy ducks
Time to rise
A birdie with a yellow bill
Hopped upon a window sill,
Cocked his shining eye and said;
" Ain't you 'shamed, you sleepy-head?"
Robert Louis Stevenson
Forgive me for being silly and enjoy this lovely sleepy poem and a view with ducks on Modrac Lake.
Have a serene Sunday.
Thanx to Chris from Vallauris for help with the 'trick' for bigger photos =) as he celebrates his 100th post.

My favourite
Which Dreamed It?
A boat beneath a sunny sky,
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July-
Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear-
Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die.
Autumn frosts have slain July.
Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.
Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.
In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:
Ever drifting down the stream-
Lingering in the golden gleam-
Life, what is it but a dream?
Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll
Have a nice weekend and a lot of fun.

New MUP facade
Continuing with buildings undergoing renovation today I present you with work in progress on the Ministry of Internal Affairs building.
On the right hand side of this building there is an attached building where you could get a passport, driving licence, identification card… oh, now they're issued in the building of the main post office. So you know just in case.

American Uni
Three days left to enrol on the American University in Tuzla.
Very expensive though and if you don't have that kind of money you can whistle away - courses they are doing are business related so not for me anyway.
One can see these posters everywhere, they are in your face wherever you go so might as well consider it.

Yellow
My grandad on my mum's side would bring a yellow rose to my grandma every year for the anniversary, and that started when they were dating. Are you romantic at heart?
Yellow
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow".
So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all "Yellow."
Your skin,
Your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
You know, you know I love you so,
You know I love you so.
I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.
Cos you were all "Yellow",
I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all "Yellow."
Your skin,
Your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
And you know,
For you I'd bleed myself dry,
For you I'd bleed myself dry.
It's true,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine.
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do.

Red, orange and a bit of green
Summer is still on and peaches are everywhere, it just happens they're one of my favourite fruits so I decided to give some away - help yourself.
Have a sweet weekend.
Ame - I've been trying to leave comments on your page for days and I'm not succeeding=( Since i migrated to blogger beta i can't say hello to some of you.
Aren't you guys going to 'upgrade' to blogger beta - it looked to me inevitable thing to do, and now it's only a few of us who actually did it?!?!

Coal arrives
This is a common site at this time of the year when coal arrives usually used for heating in private houses.
This particular coal arrived in front of the very known bakery - Hukic bakery, where they use coal to bake bread, pita breads, bread rolls, buns...
I'm very busy at the moment so I'll try my best to visit your pages and leave comments..

Me...
Today is my 100th post and since I don't eat sweets or I rather shouldn't I decided to put a photo of myself instead of a peace of cake.
These are my new boots I bought on Saturday and was more than happy I could use them the same day to help my dad to move his boat from one side of the lake to the other, I forgot how rowing is 'easy' or rather fun. I enjoyed it very much and my dad was more than happy the job was done.
This photo is taken in front of my parents weekend house on the Modrac Lake I talked abut before.
Anyway, I'm going to London one of these days and I will continue running this page with the help of my dad so it will be a joint effort of the two of us.
I took lots of photos already but he is more than happy to help on a daily basis.
I explained before about difficult situation here so many of us are leaving (or left already) to look for a better life abroad =) and at the same time it's not an easy thing to do =(
Have a happy day...

Choose the best
'Choose the best' is the slogan on the poster.
Last night was a night of SDP - Social Democratic Party.
The elections are on the 1st of October so the parties are starting the race.
The whole Tuzla came out for a SDP meeting =). These people are the only ones who talk sense and who can get us out of this sh#@/~. Tuzla was always democratic and here we have people who can make a difference.
Nationalists are very popular in the villages and they get out to vote. Young people don't vote despite everything and we are the ones who can make things better!!!
Do you vote?

DP Theme Day - Doorways
Right on time, monthly theme day =)
Here you can see the door inside of the castle ‘Dragon of Bosnia’ that I visited few days ago. It shows you the essence of the life in Otoman Empire period in Bosnia.
Please take a tour of other DP blogs in the other cities around the world.
(I’m so sorry I don’t know how to link other pages to this post, if somebody has time pls can you give instructions).
Have a great day.
