City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

Film festival

I'm watching the opening of the 12th Sarajevo Film Festival as I'm writing this post on my laptop. Lots of guests this year, amongst so many: Abel Ferara, Mike Leigh, Nick Nolte, Simon Mc Burney and many more.
OK this post it's not about Tuzla, it more about my country but since it's a big happening over here I feel obliged to let you know about it.

Here you can see the poster of the 12th SFF, they are plastered all over the city.

This year’s Festival will be launched with multiply awarded Romanian film “12:08 East of Bucharest”, directed by the young and promising Corneliu Porumboiu.

The festival has started while the war was still on. Now it's the biggest regional film festival and attracts lots of people from west.

Bosnian film No Man's Land won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2002 and that attracted attention to our very young cinematography.
