City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

Salt wells

After the sunset, old salt wells just above the city.
These salt wells are not in use any more because of the collapsing of the ground underneath the city. There was only one mine in Tuzla where salt was exploited by mining in the period from 1968 to 2000.
Still, they represent what actually Tuzla was and still is, the city of salt.
Salt = Life that's how we say it.

We have mines far up north in Sweden in a town called Kiruna. Those mines extracted not salt but ore. Because of the major excavations they are going to, and listen to this, move the entire town! = )

Thank you all for stopping by =).
Alex - wow, that's probably a must but what a shame for that town. Some experts in Tuzla are saying it's dangerous and some don't, lets hope the same thing doesn't happen to Tuzla.
