City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

Hi Kala, thanks for asking.

In the Bosnian silver-mining town of Srebrenica on the 11th of July 1995, one of the most notorious modern acts of genocide took place. While the international community and U.N. peacekeepers looked on, Serb forces separated civilian men from women and killed between 10.000 and 15.000 of men en masse, or hunted them down in the forests.
Most of them are not found or identified and the mothers are protesting every month on that day asking for justice to be done, to get arrested those responsible for the genocide.

There is a compilation of short movies done by very well know directors and one segment is about Srebrenica as well, the film is called 11'09''01 - September 11.

Thank you all for your thoughts.
The whole thing is very poignant, it is very unbelievable and unfortunate that happened. But I think it's very important that these women have peaceful protests every month in Tuzla at least we talk about it and hopefully the responsible ones will be prosecuted.

Regards
