City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

Copper etching

The items don't look etched. The designs are raised rather than cut. Etching involves eating away the design on the surface of the metal using acid (in engraving you cut away the design using a sharp metal tool). The raised designs that you see on the traditional trays for carrying coffee cups are usually achieved through copper-beating with a hammer and punch which may have been used here but these look more likely to have been achieved through a pressing-embossing technique.

If they're made locally, perhaps you could try and get a picture of the craftsman at work?
