City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

You're so lucky to have your sparrows still. They've gone from many parts of London. I miss hearing their chatter under my window. Have a very happy New Year and thanks for all your efforts in 2010.
They look a bit lonely; we have birds flocking to our feeders and it's fun to watch them.
Owen is right, here in England sparrows have gone from being seen all over most towns and cities to being much less common.
