City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

Hello Jazzy and you too Lilly. A nice photograph, Jazzy. I like it but thought it was a kind of outdoor race event as it reminded me of a track of some sort.

Hello Lilly, Hello Jazzy,

I've discovered your blog via Webradio's blog and I'm now astonished. Are these pictures of "Tuzla" city in Turkey or elsewhere? The buildings, the general look is so similar to "Tuzla" in Turkey but I would say it's not this one.

"Tuz" means "salt" in turkish language and "Tuzla" means "salt source". The "Tuzla" city in Turkey has a large salt spring and is located on the shore of Marmara Sea next to Istanbul and is today a district of Istanbul metropole. We have also a big salt lake in Central Anatolia called "Tuzla".

Thanks for these beautiful photos and greetings from Istanbul to Tuzla! :-)
