City on a grain of salt. Tuzla means a place of salt and it lays on top of the salt lake. It is suspected it has been there for around 7000 years as one of the oldest places in Europe.

Bad, bad manners

Every time I pass this small 'could be nice' little forest I kind of get angry, the people are very inconsiderate and the most amazing thing is that it's on their doorstep.
Despite today's ugly post have a good week.

The garbage is very unappealing yet the photo is a good one. It makes a statement, and the red container emphasizes the mess. Have a good week!!

The trash around us reminds us to make a decision each day for beauty.

It is not just in Tuzla, I will be hiking high up in the Rocky Mountains, and come across piles of trash. I often try to clean up the areas I find, but I think I would need a front loader for this one! I don't understand people sometimes (rather often actually) :)

It makes me so angry to see things like this. How can they just dump their trash? Are their homes this way too?
It is a great picture and as kate said, the red splash of color sets it off. Trash and beautiful wooded area just don't go together.

How sad! Yes, bad manners. And you're right -- it has the potential to be such a pretty wood!

Dumping of garbage is something I have seen in the past but it appears to occur less often now where I live ... I agree with you that the forest would be so much more enjoyable with a little consideration.

I'll join the chorus, it's a very effective photograph.

Does Tuzla have a decent rubbish collection service? And do you have any waste recycling collections?

oh yes rubbish collection service is pretty much ok, but when people leave rubbish in the woods like this it will stay there forever, unfortunately people's social contact can be very poor as you can see. it still makes me angry although i've passed this spot million times, there is a sign 'please, don't through rubbish, but with no effect. btw it's a private land and other people rubbish damp.

Jazzy, I'm afraid it's no consolation to say that people round the world do this sort of thing. But your photo should be on a poster.

Thought this link to English Russia might give you some ideas for a trip on Lake Pannonica.
